Artisan Interiors Academy

  • Dream.

Go beyond Pinterest inspiration to discover what you really love. Understand different design styles so you can find your own.

  • Design.

Confidently plan, visualise and budget your space, before you start spending.

  • Do.

Create your own structured Design Plan, to shop smart, and confidently brief trades to realise your interior dreams just the way you intended.

Dream

You’ll start with indulging your ultimate interior design fantasies through research of high quality inspiration. After learning about the history of style you’ll be equipped to turn away from trends and trust in your own taste. You’ll hone your creative eye and be invited to engage with the rebellious artistic spirit within so you can permit yourself to paint your personality all over your walls.

Design

This is where you start to marry your dreams with the reality of your property, your budget and timescale. With tutorials on space planning and colour confidence, you’ll get to safely ‘fail’ on the page - not the real room - until you get it bang on. Visualise your ideas! Clearly picture your design done before you pick up a paintbrush so you know it’ll work. Communicate your schemes through drawings and moodboards to persuade yourself (or a partner) your design ideas will work in reality.

Do

Take control of your project installation by creating a clear design plan well in advance. With access to product-sourcing and budget-management spreadsheets you’ll be well prepared to undertake your own procurement and project management, so you can keep your finances on track. Brief your builders or tradespeople with absolute clarity and confidence because you know your design inside out, and have the bandwidth to deal with any unforeseen issues when they arise - without compromising on your vision!.

There’s one more stage… DELIGHT

Once you’ve finished your transformation, experience the joy of life in a pragmatic, pretty space that inspires and invigorates every day!

Module One - Client

Being your own client is all about surveying your home and engaging deeply with what you need and want to create a really clear Design Brief. This will walk you through the process and allow you to seek and include input from other householders.

Module Two - Layout

Think of this as spatial planning made easy. You’ll learn how to draw scale floorplans, layouts and even custom furniture if you want to, without the need for computer skills. Whether you’re planning a kitchen, a bedroom or both, the same technique applies. You’ll be able to start visualising your space, experiment with different layouts (without lifting and shifting any furniture) and plan your lighting nice and early.

Module Three - Inspiration

We’ll find inspiration from fresh, original sources so that your schemes are aligned with your design dreams. So that you’re not simply collecting inspiration, I’ll show how to use that inspiration to your advantage in developing your vision, so that you can move your project forward. This is also the part where you get to start incorporating your own unique special sauce!

Module Four - Colour

This section will teach you the 8 different colour formulas you can follow so that you can feel confident in putting different tones together. But, rules are for breaking so I’m also going to show you how you can rebel and still pull off a successful scheme! You’ll also get to visualise your home decorated in another colourway, and start flexing that all-important imagination muscle.

Module Five - Keystone

Defining and then communicating intangible ideas is without doubt the keystone of any designer’s skillset. This is where things get exciting as you'll start mood-boarding and drawing* your way to a clear design scheme. You can use your design schemes made in this module to persuade your partner and communicate effectively with tradespeople to get what you want.

*(Yes, I said drawing - don’t worry, it’s optional, and masterpieces not required anyway!)

Module Six - Style

There is no such thing as an original idea. The history of style in interiors is long and interesting. I’ll walk you through an abridged version so you can understand different periods in architecture and how they relate to your property and interiors. You’ll understand the difference between fashion / trends and style, and the visual language of interior design - then you can play with it!

Module Seven - Sustainability & Sourcing

These two topics are inextricably linked. You’ll look at how you can make your home air cleaner and safer, how you can make more sustainable interior design choices from reducing energy consumption to specifying products made from planet-friendly materials. You’ll also consider where you’d look to source everything your project will need, and best of all you’ll have access to the spreadsheet template I use to track all my suppliers, sources and pricing on every project, so you’ll be able to set and stick to your budget.

Module Eight - Styling

The icing on the cake, styling is the fun part when the dust and chaos is over and you get to nest in and enjoy placing the details . Here you’ll learn some styling techniques so you can bring your finished space to life!

HOW IT WORKS

You’re not going to be given access to tutorials and then just left to get on with it. I don’t want you floundering around on your own then giving up. I want you to finish the work and succeed! The support doesn’t stop there either.

Also includes one audit of your designs per month - choose from personalised written feedback or a one hour 1-1 zoom consultation with me

I’m Zoe, the artisan interior designer, seen on BBC makeover show ‘My Unique B&B’ and founder of award-winning studio Stylemongers Of Bristol.

I’m tired of seeing clients go through an expensive extension only to be stuck with a bland ‘it’ll-do-for-now’ box, sometimes for entire years, before they come to me for help.

I know what it’s like to feel stuck in a home that drains you instead of inspiring you.

That’s why I created this programme – to help you skip the struggle and design a space that lifts you up every day!

I spent years living miserably in a house of horrors - think dilapidated, dangerous, dingy, and cluttered beyond. I felt ashamed and powerless to change it, despite knowing exactly what to do.

For the first time I really understood how living in a sub-optimal interior affects literally every area of life. That experience showed me just how potent interior design really is for impacting and supporting wellbeing.

Fast forward a few years and I live joyfully in a practical, pretty flat that’s perfect for me, and funnily enough it started a positive ripple effect right across my life and business.

Now I want my interior designs to work on a much more holistic level than looking nice on instagram - and I want that for you too!
