About

Stylemongers Of Bristol is an artisanal interior design studio making places for homeowners and small businesses both practical and pretty. Caring about people and planet, the studio recognises there is an intrinsic link between sustainability, wellbeing and creativity in design.

While we feather our nests its important we help others find or keep theirs, so a percentage of all sales is donated to homelessness charity Crisis via the Work For Good platform.

Stylemongers Of Bristol is member of the Bristol 24/7 Better Business and Future Leap networks, and a signatory with Interior Design Declares Climate & Biodiversity Emergency.

Having pledged to prioritise sustainability in all design work, the studio has so far funded the planting of 787+ trees and avoided 37.44+ tons of carbon thanks to the Ecologi platform.

Stylemongers Of Bristol is proudly based at Spike Island workspace in the heart of Bristol.

Studio founder Zoë Hewett believes that sustainability in interior design does not have to mean sacrificing style, and that creativity is how we achieve the best of both.

Beginning her design career in childhood by the making sets, props and costumes for plays performed for the grown ups, she would later redecorate rooms in secret when they went away for the weekend (thankfully she was not grounded).

Granddaughter of an architect who had a taste for Salvador Dali rugs and wallpapers, and dragged around antique markets in between watching her mother painstakingly redecorate the family home, interior design is in the blood.

After graduating in Theatre Design from Wimbledon School Of Art, Zoe freelanced in scenic design for theatre, film / TV and community arts projects for a decade before switching to interiors. Now her designs are not for fictitious scripted characters, but for real people living and working in real places.

Since founding Stylemongers Of Bristol in 2009 Zoe has won several awards and appeared as an interior designer / maker on two series of BBC TV programme ‘My Unique B&B’.

Client Testimonials

  • “We really really love your ideas particularly the colour choices. Thank you. I can’t tell you how much we appreciate all your hard work. It’s one of the reasons we’ve come back to you so many times and will do again of course.”

    S.Gallard, Cardiff

  • “I wholeheartedly recommend Zoe for anyone who feels their surroundings aren't wholly delightful. She will bring the joy!”

    C. Johnson, Bristol

  • “I am very excited about the colours you have helped us to choose. You clearly have a passion for paint and colour which was just what we needed. Can't wait to get painting now”

    H.Wake, Bristol

  • “I had a one to one consultation with Zoe to help get some ideas for our dining room. Zoe is a wealth of knowledge and inspiration and asks all those questions needed to help you consider things you would never normally think about! Her eye for detail, imagination and insights are amazing - I would never have looked at lines, and shapes and details that she seems to be able to instantly see. She followed up our session with a report that contained loads of links to suppliers and photos and ideas - I can't possibly leave it to one side and I have to get on with it! We have now made a start on our dining room which is a project we have been putting off for ages as we just didn't know where to start. Thank you Zoe - you are completely brilliant!”

    H. Jewell, Bristol

  • "Zoë got the perfect balance between what we needed practically and aesthetically. I gave her some details about items we already had and the colour of the new Geodesic dome for our glamping site and she completely worked her magic! Her scheme was really detailed and she even sent me links of where to buy everything I would need. Our guests absolutely love it and so do we! An absolute dream to work with. Thank you so much Zoë!"

    Vicki Ivins-Jones, Tractors & Cream

  • “Thank you so much for your time last week and the report. I absolutely love everything you have suggested. You have somehow managed to capture it all perfectly in a way that makes sense to me and has given me hope that the end is in sight!”

    S.Thomas, Bishopston

  • “My two bedroom apartment in Bristol just wasn’t achieving its potential in terms of rental value. Zoë created a stylish look based on replacing the wallpaper in the lounge and repainting the rest of the flat using three greys.  These colours flow through the flat creating a calming and harmonised feel to the place and which although are far more contemporary than I would have picked, works extremely well with the Georgian features.  The simplicity of the new wallpaper has added a sophistication to the lounge that we could never have achieved. We love the overall look Zoë has achieved and perhaps most importantly we have realised our objective of achieving a higher rental.”

    L.Simmons, Clifton

  • “Dear Zoe, This is brilliant! Thank you so much! It was great to meet you yesterday and have a good discussion about my ideas. They’re feeling a bit more real and realistic...  It’s really helpful to see the colour combinations and hear your advice on how to make the colours work without getting into too much of a jumble. I will let you know how I get on!”

    B. Mallam, Bishopston

  • Zoë is really personable and made it easy to for me to discuss my indecision with some design choices in our kitchen, and helped me work out what I really wanted by listening and asking perceptive questions. She gave me the confidence to go for a bolder wallpaper and she made suggestions to help zone the space and make a sort of snug area using the wallpaper to achieve this. I am now excited to start! The report she sent through is really detailed with links to specific paint colours and soft furnishing brands. It has helped me visualise how the space will look. I am really impressed with Zoë and would highly recommend her to anybody seeking help with their interiors, especially if you are indecisive like me.
